On June 18, 2019, in the Scientific Library of State University "Alecu Russo" in Balti, was held a round table with the generic "Education for active citizenship". During the event was presented the results of the study conducted during November-December 2018 by the Public Association "Mostenitorii", within the project "IMPACT - education model for active citizenship", supported by the Association "DVV International Moldova"
The purpose of the research was to identify the learning needs of young people aged 18-35 in the field of civic education and to develop an educational program for civic empowerment.
The participants at the round table were unanimously in agreement that the young people and adults in the Republic of Moldova need civic education, as well as they need legal, economic, health education, etc., because all these types of education contribute to the development of active and responsible citizen.
The organization of the educational process must be focused on the development of social and personal competences, and the initiation of a non-formal civic education program among young people and adults, will contribute to the creation and strengthening of society and communities.
