The training on the topic "Initiation and Involvement" took place in the period of September 22 – 23, 2017 in Chisinau, within the project "History Competition", implemented by DVV International Moldova, in partnership with the "Association of Young Historians of Moldova", supported by the German Foreign Office. It is a project launched for the first time in Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia, being part of the EUSTORY European network created and managed by the Körber-Stiftung Foundation in Hamburg, Germany.
The aim of the project is to conduct a history contest in which pupils and students aged 14-21 years old will attend. They will be guided by tutors, history teachers who will be trained during a series of trainings and workshops. This activity is the first in this series of trainings.
The event focused on the concept, evolution and practices of this history competition in the countries of Western Europe, aspects regarding the participation of Moldovan participants in the competition, ways of approaching history, who could be the possible heroes of the works in competition, possible roles, responsibilities and fears of actors involved in the research process, the stages of planning a history study. The training took place in the key of non-formal adult education, which allowed for the creation of a benevolent, motivational and enthusiastic atmosphere.
