Tradition of an educated person

Professional education outside the traditional professional colleges and educational institutions is also possible and offers a more tailored curriculum outline with the theoretical material finely combined with the practical activities. The project which was developed and is being implemented by the NGO Filantropia Crestina in collaboration with DVV International Moldova in the town Orhei synergizes with another project financed by the Embassy of Germany that offered financial support in purchasing tailoring equipment.

The two-tier aim of the project is personal and socio-professional development of adults from Orhei, namely learning of social – cultural issues and development of civic spirit to adults, as well as supporting socially disadvantaged women in the process of professionalization and employment, and promoting learning activities as models of good practice for society.

The activities proposed in the current year are a logical continuation of the previous project implemented by Christian Philanthropy with the support of DVV International office in Moldova in 2015. In the current year, a wider range and variety of activities is proposed such as:

-       Professional training courses in tailoring for women from disadvantaged group within a dual system of education. The uniqueness of this dual system of learning lies in thorough preparation of trainees in a positive climate, outside of a classic school education, with the possibility of practical application of theoretical knowledge, in a small group combined with the possibility of an evaluation by a school which will offer professional certification recognized by the state.

-        Socio-cultural training activities through a planned program on personal development, general knowledge in the field of culture, history, civic initiative, health. Training sessions will be held in the form of traditional social gatherings and will include trainings in the art of hand embroidery and handicrafts.
