Although the village Chiscareni, Singerei district has a rich potential for the development of tourism, the latter is not valued and capitalized at the appropriate level. For example, there are many folk craftsmen in the commune who weave carpets, embroider, carve wood, intertweave osier. Also, there are rural households that raise rabbits, bees, quails, offer places for fishing, and so on.
The touristic potential of Chiscareni village is rich and varied, both from the point of view of the natural environment, with numerous sites of significant landscape value, as well as from the point of view of culture and history. In the locality it is organized annually the "Festival of pies and stuffed cabbage/wine leaves", unique in Moldova, which contributes to the promotion of the image of the commune and the traditions of the national cuisine. This touristic potential of the locality is a precondition for concentrating efforts on the development of this sector, which faces certain impediments such as:
ü reduced capacity of dwellers of Chiscareni village to initiate economic activities in the field of tourism
ü poorly developed system for informing and promoting the touristic potential of the region. Potential service providers from Chiscareni do not have the necessary capacities to promote tourism and to diversify offers for tourists
For this aim, the NGO COPE Dialog’s project "Education for the promotion of the touristic potential" is planning to organize training courses and a study visit that will strengthen the skills of adults to promote and capitalize on the touristic potential of the locality.
