Public libraries have always played an important educational, cultural, social function. The outflow of users, changing values, changing educational and lifestyle practices are serious challenges for the functioning of these institutions. In modern conditions, the library has to adapt to change, while this space and institution have many potential and opportunities for transformation.
On May 25, DVV International Ukraine, the Lviv City Council Culture Department, and the City Institute signed the Memorandum of Cooperation
We have agreed to cooperate in the development of adult and youth education centers, the development of adult education programs, and the exchange of experts at the national, regional and international levels in order to improve management practices, information content, and adult education formats.
As the first step of our cooperation, we jointly organize the training program "Strengthening the personal and organizational competencies of Lviv city librarians". Lviv city council pays particular attention to the development of the library network and its transformation into a modern and innovative service provider for the population. In this process, the re-training of library staff has essential importance.
We look forward to fruitful cooperation and support by the city authorities for expanding educational opportunities for Lviv citizens of all ages.
