Education and reintegration 2.0

In order to contribute to improving relations between inmates, promoting resocialization and social reintegration, reducing recidivism and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of reintegration programs in the prison system, it is very important to involve inmates directly in the implementation of activities. Because prisoners have a deep understanding of prison dynamics and the specific problems prisoners face, their training can be more effective in addressing these problems. They can communicate more effectively with their peers and provide solutions that are more relevant and tailored to their needs.

For this purpose the following prisoner learning needs have been identified:

1. Developing peer-to-peer counseling skills.

2. Guidance in the application in practice of the skills received as a peer-to-peer consultant (individuals will be involved in the application in the skills received and .

3. Career planning and personal development skills.

4. Development of conflict management skills.

5. Overcoming addiction to psychoactive substances.

Prisoners are the group of beneficiaries, who require the development of key skills and competencies that can be crucial for the integration of prisoners into society after release. A comprehensive reintegration program should address both practical and emotional needs and provide them with the resources and support to build a new life outside prison.

Media and Information Literacy Initiative (MILI) in Moldova

The 17-month project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and aims to improve media literacy among Moldovan adults, with a focus on the rural population in the northern part of the country.

The project is expected to contribute to a long-term change in the behaviour of the target group and to the consolidation of Moldovan society on the path to EU integration. By supporting objective and free media, the projects contribute to strengthening the democratic resilience of Moldovan society in the fight against Russian propaganda and fake news. Developed resistance to external media manipulation will also help to prevent tensions in society and/or defuse potential conflicts, especially in the context of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

The project will be implemented in 22 localities in 9 districts in the north of the country: Briceni, Ocnita, Dondușeni, Edineti, Drochia, Glodeni, Soroca, Riscani, Falesti, involving various groups of the population. Adults from the designated localities will meet in friendly discussions on current news topics, guided by recognized local mentors, while selected groups of young people will learn aspects of digital media product development in training camps. At a later stage of the project, both young people and adults (including seniors) will meet in media labs to create multimedia content together.
