Media and Information Literacy Initiative (MILI) in Moldova"_2025

The project will continue to be implemented in 22 localities in 9 districts in the north of the country: Briceni, Ocnita, Dondușeni, Edineti, Drochia, Glodeni, Soroca, Riscani, Fălești, involving various groups of the population. The project's aim is to improve media literacy among Moldovan adults, with a focus on the rural population in the northern part of the country.

Adults from the designated localities will meet in friendly discussions on current news topics, guided by recognized local mentors, while selected groups of young people will learn aspects of digital media product development in training camps. At a later stage of the project, both young people and adults (including seniors) will meet in media labs to create multimedia content together.

The project is expected to contribute to a long-term change in the behaviour of the target group and to the consolidation of Moldovan society on the path to EU integration. By supporting objective and free media, the projects contribute to strengthening the democratic resilience of Moldovan society in the fight against Russian propaganda and fake news. Developed resistance to external media manipulation will also help to prevent tensions in society and/or defuse potential conflicts, especially in the context of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

The project "Media and Information Literacy Initiative (MILI) in Moldova", is implemented by DVV International in partnership with the Association of Independent Press (API) and the Youth Media Center (YMC) with the financial assistance of the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
