The first Summer Academy for Adult Education was organized by DVV International Ukraine from June 23 to July 1, 2012 in a picturesque area of the Crimea - Alushta city. To participate in the Academy was attended by representatives of organizations working in adult education from different countries: Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Latvia, Germany, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Tajikistan.
The topic of the Summer Academy was chosen: "Adult Education for Development: creation and development of adult education centers in the Eastern Partnership" Experienced trainers have been invited to conduct training sessions: Ingrida Mikishko, a specialist in the field of adult education, and Olga Fitstum, Director of the People's University in Weimar, Germany. Block sessions conducted by I. Mikishko was dedicated to adult education centers, its creation and types of sustainability and the creation of networks of adult education centers. Block sessions held by O. Fitstum, was devoted to marketing issues in AE.
Throughout the Academy, each day, the participants presented the work of their organizations. Thereby promote the exchange of experiences between the participants of the Academy, performing one of its most important tasks. In addition to theoretical information, participants were invited to a huge amount of practical tasks which helped them to feel in practice, to try and understand this knowledge.
