On April 26, the official opening of the Municipal Centre for Adult Learning and Education (CMIEA) which is located in the southern wing of the "Matei Basarab" high school in the Râșcani sector of the municipality took place. This centre was created on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 9 August 2022 between the Chisinau City Council and DVV International Moldova.
The event was attended by high-level guests including representatives of the German Embassy in the RM, Merle Keribaum, Director of DVV International, Uwe Gartenschläger, Desk Officer for Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Caucasus of DVV International, Bettina Brand, Mayor of the municipality of Chisinau and the Mayor of the city of Chisinau. Chisinau, Ion Ceban and the Deputy Mayor, Angela Cutasevici, etc. All the guests attending the opening brought congratulations on the occasion of this special event for the Republic of Moldova in general and for the municipality of Chisinau in particular. Both representatives of the City Hall and DVV International underlined the importance of developing and promoting adult education within the context of lifelong learning.
The Centre will be open to all adults including vulnerable groups, and will promote the development of new and qualitative offers of formal, non-formal and informal education. Through such educational offers we hope that many adults will improve their livelihood and be re-integrated into the economic and cultural life of the city.
