On October 8-10, 2021, the training Leadership and Organizational Management through Critical and Solution-Oriented Thinking, took place at a guesthouse in Vadul lui Voda.  15 participants, representatives of NGOs/Adult Learning and Education Centers from Orhei and Causeni, librarians from Municipal Library B. P. Hasdeu from different branches,  have been actively involved in the activities.

Such questions as: "How do we motivate the staff in the work of the institution as a team?", "How do we improve the quality of the educational offer?", "How do we involve schools and community centres in carrying out adult education activities?" were discussed through the lens of the 6 thinking hats that develop constructive critical thinking (a method developed by Maltese psychologist Edward de Bono).

Each of the participants in the training put on one of the 6 thinking hats, namely the white one which is responsible for collecting data from various sources, the green one which generates solutions to the identified problem, the yellow one which highlights the positive sides of the solutions, balanced by the black one which identifies challenges and risks related to each solution, the red hat which gives free rein to emotions and feelings related to the solutions, and the blue one which summarises and organises the action plan.

Drawing on life and work experience was the starting point for developing skills in cooperation, effective listening, exploring and creatively analysing different perspectives of an identified problem and finding the best solutions. Providing a supportive environment is very important to support solution-oriented critical thinking and the strategic vision of the institution is the key element in the development of an institution. These conclusions were reached by the participants in the training, who also formed beneficial relationships for cooperation.

This event was organised by DVV International Moldova to strengthen the capacities of representatives of Adult Learning and Education Institutions from BMZ funds.
