In the past years DVV International has developed several curricula and tools designed to support and develop Institutions of Adult Learning and Education (IALEs) in its partner countries, such as Curriculum GlobALE for the professional training and development of the teaching staff of Centres, Curriculum InstitutionALE as a referencing tool for organisational development of ALE-organisations, and Curriculum ManagerALE - designed to train and further develop managers of IALEs.
Within the Regional project DVV International is aiming at designing and implementing needs based capacity development of the managers of IALEs based on Curriculum ManagerALE.
As a first step in this direction a capacity building needs assessment of managers of partner IALEs in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine was conducted from February to April 2023. The objective was to identify the current learning needs of IALE managers, reflect on priorities and challenges for their professional development and draft ideas for capacity development topics that could support the further improvement of IALEs. The needs assessment was carried out using the competence description in the Curriculum ManagerALE.
A total of 12 Institutions of Adult Learning and Education from countries in the region were selected to participate in the capacity building needs assessment. As the results a range of topics for capacity development of managerial staff of these organisations were collected, based on demand articulated. In consultations with the expert, respective Country and Regional Directors of DVV International offices these topics were prioritised for the trainings both on the national and regional levels. The Regional needs-based capacity building training for managers of IALE based on Curriculum ManagerALE is planned for October 2023 while national trainings will be organised within this year in participating countries.
