On April 2–3, 2026, a study tour for representatives of Adult Learning and Education Centers took place in Lviv. The event was organized by the Representative Office of DVV International in Ukraine in cooperation with the NGO “Network of Education Centers” within the framework of the project “Enhancing the Professionalization of Adult Learning and Education Centers in Europe,” supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The study tour brought together directors and managers of Adult Learning and Education Centers (ALECs) from various regions of Ukraine. The main goal of the program was to facilitate the exchange of experience among partners, introduce effective practices, and strengthen cooperation in the field of adult education.
During the first day, participants explored local initiatives. They visited the coordination center for non-formal adult education, where they learned more about the activities of the Network of Education Centers and Lviv’s participation in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. Presentations were also delivered by the Institute of the City of the Lviv City Council and the Center for Social Entrepreneurship. The program also included visits to the City Museum and the Lviv Youth Center, where participants gained insights into the development of youth policy and Lviv’s experience as a youth capital.
The second day focused on social support and inclusion. The delegation visited the UNBROKEN rehabilitation center, where they learned about approaches to the recovery of people affected by the war. They also visited a library for the visually impaired and a social café that supports the local community.
The study visit combined an educational component, practical visits to city institutions, and networking opportunities for representatives of adult education centers. The event marked another step toward strengthening cooperation among organizations working to advance adult learning and education in Ukraine.
