May 16-17 DVV International together with NGO Information and Research Center "Integration and Development" held training in project management within the project "Learning community - transformation of conflicts in Ukraine and Moldova through active public participation" in Kyiv.
The participants of the training were managers and accountants of NGO projects, winners of mini-projects in 10 regions of Ukraine.
During the training participants presented their mini-projects and planned activities for the next six months, it allowed to exchange ideas and experiences, and promoted closer acquaintance between existing and new partner organizations.
During the training the representatives of partner NGOs found out the standards of financial and program reporting, learned more about designing the content of educational programs and even tried themselves as local officials, journalists and residents of the local community and other stakeholders of mini-projects during the role-playing game aimed to the partnership with local authorities.
Participants noted that different roles of opponents or passive associates gave them a better understanding of priorities, motivation, and potential impact on decision making of these groups. One of the training speakers was Lesya Burchak, a Director of Kyiv Center for Legal Aid Providing. She described the potential areas of cooperation between regional centers for Legal Aid Providing and NGOs in the field of adult education. The possibility of involvement of specialists of these centers in developing of programs on civic education or training on legal issues for the target groups evoked the greatest interest of the participants.
When participants asked: "Are representatives of centers for Legal Aid Providing ready to be involved in such initiatives?", Lesya Burchak said that the provision of legal aid is a direct function of workers of centers for Legal Aid Providing and improving the legal culture of Ukrainians is a priority for them.
The project "Learning community - transformation of conflicts in Ukraine and Moldova through active public participation" - united initiative of DVV International in Ukraine and NGO Information and Research Center "Integration and Development", which is supported by the Federal Foreign Office.
