The Representative Office of the German Adult Education Association in the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with youth public association “Historyka” invites potential tutors of the "Behind the scenes: from the family history to the history of the community" competition to participate in a two-day training seminar.
The main goal of the seminar is to prepare tutors to provide informational, advisory and curatorial support to the participants of the competition "Behind the scenes: from the family history to the history of the community" who are young people aged 15 to 25.
During the seminar, the participants will be acquainted with:
- the concept of the competition " Behind the scenes: from the family history to the history of the community";
- the "oral history" approach (what is oral history and oral-historical interview, how to organize and carry out oral-historical research);
- the basics of working with photographs (the role of photographs in preserving history, specific of their analysis and interpretation, creation of home archive);
- types of multimedia presentations and interactive services Web 2.0 as a way of presenting information and competitive works.
We invite to participate in the seminar:
school teachers, pedagogues, instructors (including those from institutions of adult education), NGO activists, leaders of youth clubs, study circles, sections, museums, libraries, etc.
those who are ready to organize the work of students in the framework of the competition and provide informational, advisory and curatorial support to participants during the preparation of the competition work.
The terms of participation:
Participation in the seminar is free of charge. Organizers provide participants with meals and handouts. Non-resident participants are provided with accommodation and compensation of travel costs (compensation for public long-distance transport tickets).
To participate in the seminar you must fill in the following application form by December 13, 2017.
Curators for participation in the seminar will be selected on a competitive basis. The following criteria will be of importance during the selection process:
- proportional balance of representatives of various districts and regions of Belarus;
- proportional balance of representatives of various organizations (state / non-state educational institutions, NGOs, clubs, museums, libraries, etc.);
- the tutor can nominate a particular participant ready to take part in the competition;
- availability of an interesting and original topic for carrying out historical research and preparing competitive work;
- high motivation to participate in the seminar and the project as a whole.
