Belarusian trainers adapted a global core curriculum “Curriculum GlobALE”

Improving competences of adult educators based on the strategy of active learning is one of the key activities of the Association of Life-Long Learning and Enlightenment (ALLLE). In 2016, this activity was reinforced by joint work of ALLLE trainers on a long-term module course “School of Educators” for novice trainers from Belarusian regions.

The programme of the course that was conducted from August to December 2016 in different regions of Belarus had been developed based on a global core curriculum on adult teaching and learning “Curriculum GlobALE” outlining basic competences of adult educators all over the world.

One of the final events on piloting the programme was an evaluation workshop on December 13, 2016 where the trainers of the course “School of Educators” summed up the results of the use of “Curriculum GlobALE” in educational processes. The hosts of the workshop were the representatives of “Curriculum GlobALE” team – Ms. Tania Czerwinski and Ms. Maja Avramovska (DVV International Bonn, Germany).

The global core curriculum was adapted within the project “Learn to Act” implemented by the Representative Office of the German Adult Education Association in the Republic of Belarus, Association of Life-Long Learning and Enlightenment and Adult Education Center in Cham (Bavaria, Germany) with the financial support of the European Union and DVV International. The project aims at contributing to the fulfilment of the right to life-ling education and civil participation.

The participants of the seminar shared their thoughts about the developed programme on the level of planning, implementation and results, discussed its strengths and weaknesses. Besides, possiblilities of using the programme “Curriculum globALE” in Belarus within the activity of ALLLE were discussed.

As a result of the evaluation meeting the trainers were awarded with the certificates of adapting the global course “Currculum globALE” in Belarus confirming their perfect skills in elaborating and implementing train-the-trainer programs in adult education
